About Me

Who?

I am Dr. Rebecca Anthony, a highly skilled and recently qualified HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist (PYL047598). With a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) from the University of Glasgow, I bring extensive experience across complex NHS specialist settings, including Clinical Health Psychology (General, Cardiology, Chronic Pain), and Forensic Mental Health.

My professional life is driven by a deep commitment to compassionate, person-centred care, grounded not only in my rigorous training but also in the understanding gained from lived experience. This foundation allows me to meet complexity with genuine empathy and insight.

Note on Practice: I currently maintain a part-time role within the NHS at the Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS). My private practice is structured around this commitment, ensuring I dedicate focused, high-quality time to my clients.

How?

Therapy begins with genuine collaboration and complex formulation, designed to understand your unique distress in context and foster self-compassion. My approach is evidence-based and tailored, drawing expertly from established models including ACT, CFT, and DBT to promote meaningful, sustainable change that aligns with your values.

What?

I specialise in navigating the interwoven challenges of complex physical health, trauma, and neurodevelopmental needs. This is informed by my background in specialist NHS teams, including the Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS) and roles focused on Chronic Pain and Forensic Mental Health. I believe in drawing on your inherent strengths to move forward, viewing challenges not as pathology but as understandable responses to difficult life circumstances.
